NYHL Forming Metro High School Team

NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Youth Hockey League is preparing to host a Metro High School team for the 2009-2010 season at the Centennial Sportsplex.

Longtime NYHL Head Coach and Michigan native Dean Campeotto has been tabbed to oversee the club’s on ice hockey operations.

Although aimed at High School players who do not have a GNASH team on which to play, the team is also open to players not on a school’s varsity roster.

The team season will consist of a weekly practice (Wed), along with 8 home exhibition games vs. GNASH clubs and potentially other HS equivalent teams, with potentially 8 more games from reciprocating hosted teams.

Team fees are projected to be approximately $550 for the 5 month season, pending approval from the NYHL Board of Directors. Player dues will cover practice and game ice cost, referee/officials cost, uniform and administrative expenses.

To be eligible to participate, players must be registered with USA Hockey as a player for the 2009-10 season and have full ice hockey equipment for on ice practices and games. Rental equipment is available.

Pre-Season practicing/scrimmaging (half ice) is now available in order to organize interested players. Fee is $10 per player.

Season fees will cover the team’s program from October through February.
