GNASH Teams to play at Bridgestone Arena

The Nashville Predators and GNASH are featuring a series of nine regular season games, one senior game and one all-star game that will see all 16 GNASH squads, and a total of 20 schools, play a game on Bridgestone Arena ice.

- Sixteen GNASH Teams to Play Bridgestone Arena Ice from October to January -

 

            Nashville, Tenn. (October 12, 2010) – The Nashville Predators and Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey (GNASH) league will partner during the 2010-11 season for to feature a series of nine regular season games, one senior game and one all-star game that will see all 16 GNASH squads, and a total of 20 schools, play a game on Bridgestone Arena ice. All games will take place on weekends from Oct. 16-Dec. 11.

 

            The partnership is part of a league-wide fundraiser that gives GNASH the opportunity to raise $15,000 by selling more than 3,000 tickets to Predator games. This also marks the first of several youth hockey league ticket fundraisers established by the Predators this season.

 

            The Nashville Predators continue their efforts to enhance the awareness and opportunity of youth and amateur hockey in Middle Tennessee. The Predators have created partnerships with local youth hockey associations and assist with fundraising, hockey education and additional ice time to promote the growth of the sport at the grassroots level.

 

            "This partnership with the Predators will go a long way in showcasing the talent, skill level and competition of high school hockey in Middle Tennessee,” GNASH League President Dave O’Loughlin said. “Working together, we can help grow the sport at the grass-roots level and it’s possible we could even help develop the next NHL Entry Draft pick out of Middle Tennessee.”

 

            Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey (GNASH) League is a non-profit organization which supports the growth and quality of high school ice hockey in Middle Tennessee. Currently, there are 20 high schools represented in the GNASH League made up of 16 teams. For more information on high school ice hockey in Middle Tennessee, visit gnashockey.com
