American Red Cross Water Safety Class Schedule Spring 2008

The Nashville Parks Department would like to get the word out to all GNASH players that they are currently looking for life guards to hire at their Summer pools, including Wave Country on Briley Parkway. They provide training classes for anyone who is not certified. Please contact Ricky Biggs or Matt Oberbreckling at 862-8480 if you have any questions.

Lifeguard Training

Minimum Age:  Must be 15 when the class begins
Cost: Resident fee $120       Non-resident fee $132
Text book, pocket mask, and first aid gear $52
Text and equipment must be purchased from the Red Cross by the second class and students must provide instructor with a copy of the receipt. Registration Form

 Session II:

The first class will be March 31st.  Classes take place on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.  You must attend on each of the following dates and can only miss a class in the case of an emergency.
March 31st, April 2nd, 7th, 9th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, and 28th, 30th

May 5th and 7th

 

Session III:
The first class will be May 27th.  Class will take place Tuesday through Sunday, six days straight.  You must attend on each of the following dates and can only miss a class in the case of an emergency.

May 27th – May 30th 3:30pm - 8:30pm

May 31st – June 1st 9:00am - 4:00pm

Water Safety Instructor

Reg. Deadline:  March 31st        Minimum Age: 16

Cost: $120 resident fee         $132 non-resident fee   (plus texts)

Text and equipment must be purchased from the Red Cross by the second class and students must provide instructor with a copy of the receipt in order to continue class.

Water Safety Instructor Class will be held partially at Hadley and Sportsplex with the first class being at the Sportsplex.

April 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.  Class will be each Saturday from 9:00-5:00.

Class meets every day between 7 am - 3 pm and will be held jointly at Hadley and the Sportsplex. First class will be at Hadley.

NOTE: In order to be eligible for a resident fee, the user must reside in Davidson County.  Anyone found giving false information about residency to purchase a membership or class would be barred from purchasing the same in the future.  Refunds will not be available to anyone giving false residential information. Fees are subject to change.
